Deanna Schultz is a compassionate and highly skilled wellness professional, specializing in exercise oncology and yoga therapy. As a breast cancer survivor, Deanna’s personal healing journey profoundly shapes her work. She is dedicated to helping individuals reclaim their health and vitality, particularly those navigating the challenges of cancer treatment and recovery. Drawing from her own experiences, Deanna creates customized exercise programs that support cancer patients before, during, and after their treatment, empowering them to regain strength and well-being.
Deanna’s professional journey is built on extensive training and mentorship with some of the most respected figures in the wellness and cancer recovery fields. She earned her certification as a Cancer Exercise Specialist through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute, founded by Andrea Leonard, a pioneer in cancer recovery through exercise. Additionally, Deanna completed a 200-hour Yoga and Healing Sciences program at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, where she further honed her expertise with an advanced yoga therapy training program. This earned her the esteemed C-IAYT credential through the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) after completing over 800 hours of specialized training. Her pursuit of knowledge has continued with mentorship from Kathleen Ross-Allee, a trailblazer in yoga therapy for cancer patients, and studies with Tari Prinster, founder of yoga4cancer. These influential teachers have deepened Deanna’s ability to design personalized yoga programs specifically tailored to cancer survivors. Deanna is also certified as a personal trainer and weight loss specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), which allows her to support her clients in a variety of wellness areas.
Beyond yoga therapy and oncology-focused exercise, Deanna brings the joy of movement into her practice through Zumba. Believing in the power of community and self-expression, she uses Zumba as a dynamic, fun way to help her clients improve both their physical and emotional well-being. Deanna’s extensive training includes over 500 hours of Prime of Life Yoga® with renowned teacher Larry Payne, Ph.D., whose expertise in yoga therapy and back health has garnered international recognition. She was deeply transformed by her 200-hour Yoga and Healing Sciences program with Terra Gold, an integrative health practitioner specializing in Frequency-Based Medicine. Testimonials
- “Deanna has been my yoga therapist for over 10 years now. I had no idea what yoga therapy was. But, after trying it, I started feeling better. Since then, I no longer feel lower back pain. Through gentle yoga stretching, I have become more flexible. As a diabetic, Deanna taught me breathing techniques that has decreased my stress levels. And, this has helped me control my blood glucose levels.”- Gerry S. (Television Broadcast Engineer)
- “Deanna is an extremely warm, sensitive, compassionate and motivating human being. After 4 babies and feeling at my heaviest weight, the last place I felt motivated to go was to the GYM! However, after working with Deanna, hearing her success story, seeing her physical and mental strength and her desire to bring that out in ME, I was incredibly motivated. Energized. And so inspired to get BACK to working out again! She taught me HOW to do that. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to gain their strength back and/or lose weight. I am so grateful for her healthy influence on my life. The core strengthening skills, proper breathing techniques and the exercises she has taught me, will stay with me for a long time. I have so much gratitude!”- Marion B. (Busy Mom of Four)
- “Deanna has a passion for fitness and she knows her craft very well. My first encounter with Deanna was very uplifting. It was my first day back at exercising after being away for five months due to a traffic accident. Deanna graced me with a beautiful smile as she introduced herself. During our training session, I observed how educated she was about training. She explained each workout routine, why it was important and how it would improve my strength. Her words of encouragement motivated me to lose weight. I was impressed with the fact that I remembered the routines she taught me; I was able to do them on my own when she wasn’t there. On a personal level Deanna is very professional, well-mannered and is a very effective trainer. She makes you feel comfortable in your own skin. Deanna has my highest recommendation as a great personal trainer.”- Keisha R. (Medical Field)
